Longford Town FC is pleased to announce that Joe Gorman has signed for the 2020 season. Joe impressed in pre season and played a part in last night’s friendly v Bohemians at the AUL. The game finished 2-0 to Bohemians. The 25 year old defender was most recently with Cliftonville but also had spells with
James Talbot was the hero for Bohemians as they eventually saw off a heroic Longford Town in the second round of the FAI Cup.
Andre Wright gave the hosts the lead before Jack Doherty levelled minutes later in extra-time. Penalties ensued where the Gypsies won out as Talbot saved Lee Steacy’s spot kick at the death.
The Midlanders can be immensely proud of their performance against such respected opposition, with plenty of their young stars shining.

The winners of tomorrow evening’s game between Longford Town and Athlone Town at City Calling Stadium, will play Bohemians away at Dalymount Park in the Extra.ie FAI Cup Second Round. All fixtures will be played on the weekend ending Sunday, August 25 with dates and kick-off times set to be confirmed at a later date.
