A few more pictorial memories from our final home match last season….join the crowds for this year’s final game at the City Calling Stadium this Friday when we kick off against Derry City at 7.45pm.
Tom Clarke played for De Town in the 1940’s with ex-Ireland international Sean Fallon. His son sent an email to us saying that he kept a series of letters that Longford Town FC sent to his Dad when he was about to sign for us and he wanted us to keep them. Tom passed away a few years ago.
These newspaper articles are from the Irish Sun and from the local English press as he refereed games up to a late age and held the world record for being the oldest current referee.
