Blast From The Past 2001-02

Longford Town played St Patrick’s Athletic at what was then called Flancare Park in the 2001-02 shown live on RTE. Town were battling relegation and this game finished 1-1, Stuart Holt with the goal for Town. We finished in the relegation playoffs, v Finn Harps, a 6-5 penalty shootout win preserving our status in the Premier Division for the 2002-03 season.

Blast From The Past – Longford Town v Athlone Town (1983)

In 1983, whilst still a non-league side, they hosted reigning League and League Cup Champions, Athlone Town. Longford Town had Zac Hackett as player-manager and famous names such as dual GAA star, Dessie Barry and Heysham El Khershi, here’s a few snippets from the programme of that occasion.
