New developments at City Calling Stadium – Press Release

Sat Jul 26th 2014

The ongoing structural developments at City Calling stadium are progressing apace. Longford Town FC are delighted to announce that the new media room is now completed and will be ready for use for the first time at the Club's home SSE Airtricity League game against Waterford United this Saturday July 26th.

The new media room is part of a development at the City Calling Stadium which includes new general office, manager's office and drug testing room. It is envisaged that work on this block will be fully completed in plenty of time before Longford Town FC host two Under 17 international games in September. This development along with the newly revamped press box in the main stand make the City Calling stadium one of the most media friendly grounds in the League.

Club secretary Carmel Browne commented "All at the club are very proud of our stadium, the ongoing developments certainly enhance the facilities and make a visit to City Calling Stadium a great experience for supporters and media alike so it's fantastic to see the new office block nearing completion. However I must add that a big plus for the club has always been the high quality of the playing surface. This continues to be the case and great credit is due to the hardworking groundsman and staff at the stadium".

Carmel added "Longford Town Supporters' Club continue to work hard on fundraising to ensure work on the stadium can continue so great credit is due to all involved there too".

All at the Club are looking forward to our upcoming home games in the SSE Airtricity league and to hosting the upcoming Under 17 internationals.
