Match Preview: St. Pats v Longford Town

Longford Town head to Richmond Park this evening to take on St. Patrick's Athletic in the 8th round of SSE Airtricity League Premier Division action.

De Town go into the game off the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss away to Waterford, in a game that Longford really should have gotten something from, considering Waterford were down to 10 men with half an hour left to play.

St. Pats are on top of the table with 17 points, having not lost a game yet so far this season. They come into this evening's game off the back of a comfortable 2-0 win away to Finn Harps in Ballybofey.

The additions of Ronan Coughlan, John Mountney, Sam Bone and Viteslav Jaros on loan from Liverpool have strengthened Stephen O'Donnell's side considerably and they certainly look like title contenders early on.

Longford will have it all to do in Richmond and look set to be without the services of Callum Warfield, Aaron McNally, Conor Davis and Matthew O'Brien who are all dealing with injuries. Shane Elworthy and Club Captain Dean Zambra are also doubtful.

LTFC Manager Daire Doyle speaking to the press following Longford's 1-0 loss away to Waterford last week.

Speaking to LTFC.ie, Manager Daire Doyle revealed that his team will be going for a result in Inchicore:

I'm really looking forward to our game in Inchicore against St. Pat's. We will go into the game with a positive mindset looking to get a result from the game. They have started the season extremely well and it is sure to be a great challenge for us tonight.

Kick off at Richmond Park is 5.45PM and it's live on Watch LOI with live updates on De Town's twitter page.
