Match Preview | Shamrock Rovers v Longford Town | 17/04/21

De Town go into Saturday's game hoping to make amends for last week's loss at home to Drogheda United at Bishopsgate. A 4-0 defeat at the hands of Tim Clancy's side will have Daire Doyle's charges looking to rectify their performance but it can't get any tougher than the current league champions.

Rovers go into this weekend's game currently third in the table on eight points, four points ahead of Longford. With wins over Derry City and Dundalk and two draws with St. Pats and Sligo Rovers, Stephen Bradley will be looking to continue their unbeaten run and good start to the new season. Town currently sit in seventh, level on points with Bohemians and just one point ahead of Waterford.

Last time both clubs faced each other in the league was back in 2016. Rovers won all three games that year, something Daire Doyle will be looking to make sure doesn't happen in 2021.

Longford will have to do without Captain Dean Zambra, Dean Byrne, Aaron McNally and Callum Warfield, who are all on the injury list for this weekend. McNally had to go off during the Drogheda game last week.
