Tiwani Akinlabi Appointed LTFC Academy Video Analyst

Longford Town FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Tiwani Akinlabi to Academy Video Analyst.

The Cavan man who is studying Sports Management & Coaching in IT Carlow revealed it was the club's emphasis on the academy side of things that really attracted him to the role;

I have seen the good work Longford Town do at underage level in bringing academy kids through to the first team, and it is clear that it's working with the promotion last season so I wanted to help contribute to a club where the academy is an area of importance. I have been very interested in video analysis for the last couple of years of working with college teams and I like to think I have a skillset that suits the role well, so I wanted to expand my skills by doing this role alongside my coaching and Longford have the perfect environment for that.

Video Analysis has become a huge area in football nowadays and Tiwani realises it's importance for academy players, emphasizing it's advantages;

It's been a growing area of importance for senior players and especially younger players. I actually think it is almost more beneficial for younger players than seniors at times. With younger players, they are still figuring out how they learn best, from video, to audio, to doing it themselves. So being able to see themselves playing can help the coaches relate their advice and instructions better, so they can see exactly what us coaches mean, but also, they can understand the way they play better.
