Longford Town were narrowly defeated by League Champions, Dundalk 2-1 at a friendly in a closed to spectators, Oriel Park.
Sam Verdon hit a brilliant half volley from outside the box that nestles into the corner past Rodgers in goal on 3 minutes. Dundalk equalised before half-time through Patrick Hoban. Michael Duffy scored the winner for the Lilywhites on 79 minutes.
A solid performance from De Town against the Premier Division champions.
