TOWNS DRAW

There was a good Longford travelling support in Athlone last Friday evening but the resultant 1-1 draw was far from good. Just like our first game against the other Town, we went one behind and had to battle back to get a share of the spoils. Chris Mulhall had a bittersweet night. First he netted the all important equaliser but near the end of the game, he was dismissed by the ref in what appeared to be a very harsh decision. We had travelled expecting all three points; one point was a very disappointing outcome.

GALWAY AT HOME ON FRIDAY

We face Galway this Friday night, June 1st with a 7.45pm kick off time. Yes, you read that correctly, it's Friday night and not Saturday night. Why? Because we play Finn Harps up in Finn Park on the Monday. It's the re-scheduled game from a while past when we had rather different weather to this recent balmy spell. Galway are currently 4 points ahead of us, sitting in 3rd position. Drogheda beat them in Galway last week so they'll be feeling sore and looking for a full haul of points. But then, surely we've a point or three to prove too. It'll be a tough one. See you there on Friday night....Friday remember.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH /MAY

Congratulations to Sam Verdon who is our Player of the Month for May. He'll receive his trophy before Friday night's game .

CAR BOOT SALE

The June Bank Holiday Monday has come round very fast. Anyway, as well as the game up in Finn Park, we also have our car boot sale at the City Calling Stadium. It starts when the sun rises and finishes at 3pm. The last one was an incredible success with probably our largest crowd since we started the car boot sales. So, if interested, be on time. And if you're considering helping out because we always need volunteers, let Liam Healion know this Friday.

HAPPY TONY

While in the midst of London town last Sunday, Tony Ghee received the news that the County team had beaten Meath. It was a welcome gee up for Tony who has to miss a few Town games due to work commitments in the UK. But fair play to Tony, he had already filed his brilliant match reports before jetting off. See you home soon again, Tony.
